Overview

As part of the £56 million Mid Cornwall Metro programme, PACE Infrastructure Solutions Ltd was engaged by Colas Rail, working on behalf of the South West Rail Systems Alliance (SRSA), to deliver a major civils package at Newquay Station.
This high-profile project supports the introduction of hourly train services between Newquay and key Cornish towns from May 2025, enhancing regional connectivity and capacity.

Our Scope

PACE successfully delivered a comprehensive civils package including:

  • Demolition of a disused platform
  • Construction of a new second platform
  • Installation of retaining walls, cable troughing, and UTX crossings
  • Formation of signal bases, surfacing, fencing, and drainage
  • All works were delivered under Adjacent Line Open (ALO) conditions with close coordination alongside live operations.
