PACE was engaged by Colas Rail to contribute specialized troughing gangs for a critical 36-kilometer troughing upgrade in a congested segment of the infrastructure on the MLN1 route as part of the P2R project (Paddington to Reading). The extensive works also encompassed ancillary tasks such as fencing, handrail installations, and retaining wall constructions, all executed by PACE's experienced civils teams integrated into the larger project framework. The complexity of the project was compounded by the congested nature of the infrastructure. Throughout the project, PACE demonstrated exceptional performance with a 98.8% attendance record, highlighting the commitment and reliability of the teams provided. The teams' excellent safety culture did not go unnoticed, earning recognition from the client and winning their safety engagement league as number one safety engagement supplier. The teams' exemplary safety culture garnered recognition from the client, propelling them to the top of the safety engagement league and earning accolades as the leading safety engagement supplier. This success also influenced the broader safety culture within the client's supply chain, as PACE's Safety team conducted collaborative workshops to train and educate other suppliers, fostering increased safety engagement. PACE's dedication to maintaining a safe working environment, coupled with the expertise of its civils teams, contributed significantly to the success of the troughing upgrade and associated works on the MLN1 route. The collaboration between PACE and Colas Rail showcased effective integration within a larger project, emphasizing PACE's ability to provide specialized services, maintain high attendance rates, and foster a safety-focused culture.
